"I hope all of our MRHC Alumni are staying safe and healthy during this unprecedented time! I have been happy to hear from several of you during the pandemic and am proud of the work you're doing to help keep your communities healthy. Our current IM residents and faculty have been working tirelessly to do the same. Although Academic Year 2020-2021 will be different than years past, we are looking forward to an awesome year. One of the most exciting changes for this year is our resident physicians now have the opportunity to rotate at University of Mississippi Medical Center in their third year. We are looking forward to the partnership with UMMC and to having UMMC residents here at Magnolia in the future as well! I will be sharing more about didactic, curricular, and rotational updates with each issue. Our new interns comprise a fantastic group, and I am looking forward to getting to know them, teaching them, learning from them and growing with them. Stay safe, Alumni, and please stay in touch!" - Dr. Hayes Baker

Medical Student Program
The medical student program at MRHC continues to expand and grow. Dr. Peyton Preece, Director of Student Medical Education, says, "On July 20 we welcomed our new group of third year osteopathic medical students. Many come from different areas of the country and we are excited to help them grow and learn to succeed as clinical physicians. They will call Corinth home for the next one to two years and some will consider staying for internal medicine or emergency medicine residency. These students depend on our excellent physicians to help guide and teach them through their last two years of medical school. As the Director of Student Medical Education, having students is an integral part in creating a true academic environment at MRHC as well as a way to give back to our community through their influence, volunteer work, and direct patient care."
